Wedding styling can feel complex; with all the noise and never-ending Pinterest, Instagram, Tik Tok inspo you’re saving - it can be a challenge to know where to start. The decision paralysis is real! It’s a sure-fire way to up-level your styling beyond the norm and take your wedding to the next level.

So, where to start?

1. Set a budget and be realistic. The range of ‘normal’ styling budgets are from 5000-25,000 euro.

2. Identify your style. Light and airy to dramatic, or modern. Consider the venue context, your own personal style outside of your wedding world and the season’s colours and florals.

3. Plot out your day/s. Breakdown each moment of your events and drop in things you would like to include - this might be a colour, a feeling, a floral design, a texture, a lighting mood.

4. Prioritise, find consistency and COMMIT. Don’t be distracted by the noise and other people’s weddings. Skim back through your Style Guide and try and find consistency so as to not confuse or distract your vendor team. If you have 2 ‘routes’ that’s OK – ask for quotes on both and work them up.

5. Brief your vendors for quote. Including: florist, lighting, stationery, rentals needed (if furniture and mise en place is not supplied by your caterer.

Hot Tip:

You can always add more details last minute but with this process you have the foundations in place. This should be done 6-8 months before the wedding so that you have a calm and clear idea of your wedding vision and a realistic budget quote. No surprises near the wedding, thank you!

And costs?

Every wedding is different for logistical reasons and vendors charge wildly different amounts, based on their expertise, travel, the brief - so these figures should be used as a guide to help you budget.
