Price -

The region offers an array of beautiful venues, amazing views, fabulous food and is great value for money. The region is not seen as a ‘destination’ within the wedding world; it is untouched and more of a hidden gem. For this reason the price is more reasonable. You can take your pick from a range of suppliers and they tend to operate in a more personal and individual way.

Things to know before booking.

The strong earthquake of 2016, caused the destruction of many towns and sadly loss of life. Although many years have passed some city centres have not yet been completely renovated.

It can get hot in the height of summer, we would recommend a June date when the landscape is green and not too parched. September is also lovely when the grapes harvest and the vines are full.

La Lista recommends

  1. Ancona: Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, it has one of the largest Italian ports. It is one of the main economic centres of the region, as well as the main urban centre in size and population. Stretching out to sea, the city sits on a bent elbow-shaped headland, which protects the wider natural port of the central Adriatic.

  2. Ascoli Piceno: The historic centre is built almost entirely in travertine stone including the famous Renaissance Piazza del Popolo. The centre preserves several noble towers and bell towers and for this reason it is called the City of a Hundred Towers. It is the only city in the region to have two historic theatres, the Ventidio Basso and the Filarmonic.

  3. San Benedetto del Tronto: located along the southern Adriatic coast of Le Marche at the mouth of the Tronto River, is an important tourist centre and fishing port of the Riviera delle Palme.

  4. Macerata: sea, hills, and mountains: Macerata has it all! It's a lively city because it is home to one of the oldest universities in the world, sweetly snuggled up and protected by the beautiful hills of the Le Marche region.

  5. Pesaro Urbino: the hinterland of Pesaro is a territory full of natural beauty. Among the soft hills, a few kilometers from the coast, there are small historic villages, medieval fortresses and castles.
