10 Italian Wedding venues for big weddings

Having a big wedding in Italy is very traditional – an Italian wedding is a BIG deal in Italy. Despite this, there aren’t many venues that cater well for over 100 people, especially not for multiple days and nights. We harp on about this a lot but with a larger wedding it’s even more important to ensure the venues has the spaces and the facilities for your guests and suppliers. Here’s our top 10 that meet the mark.


With incredible views of the city of Florence, an expansive garden and ballroom – Maiano is well suited to large weddings.

With a show stopping garden and limonaia, this venue is really well suited to large weddings rain or shine. It has accommodation just down the road and is close enough to Florence for guests to stay centrally. 

LL insider tip: At Lilliano you must use one of their selected caterers, get the prices before booking to ensure the overall budget stacks up.

The villa’s stand out courtyard is complimented by beautiful gardens and it makes for a great set up for large weddings. The villa can also sleep approx. 80 people, making the logistics of a larger wedding easier. It is close to Siena, with as to be expected stunning Tuscan views.

One of the best venues in Puglia.

A hidden gem in Puglia, Cuturi is gorgeous inside and out and is a stunning setting for a large Italian wedding.

Famous for it’s long table setting in front of the gorgeous glasshouse, San Sebastiano di Po actually has many spaces that could be used for a large wedding include a gorgeous lawn with epic views. It is situated near Turin in the Piedmont region.

It doesn’t get more authentic than La Tonnara in Sicily. A working museum, this venue literally touches the sea and has stunning views of abstract sea stacks.

LL insider tip: There’s an exclusivity fee to close La Tonnara to external guests as it’s a tourist site. Factor this in to your budget.

Undoubtedly a stunning setting for a wedding, Grabau is situated close to Lucca which is handy for guests flying in to Pisa. The site has multiple accommodations including villas and a hotel.

LL insider tip: The villa itself and the space directly outside it isn’t available for use when rented for weddings.

When you think of Tuscan wedding settings, La Foce is front of mind. That manicured garden is breath-taking and unbeaten in the area. With lots of accommodation on site, La  Foce really works well for large weddings in central Tuscany.

LL insider tip: certain spaces must be used for certain parts of the day.

A gorgeous venue on the sea, La Tonnara has a large, courtyard space next to a lighthouse and a castle. It’s vibrant colour brings light and life to any celebration. Near Palermo, Sicily.
