What is the region famous for?
I mean, where to start! Rome is the global capital of history, culture and religion. The eternal city…the city of the soul. Even if you don’t get married there, you seriously must go!

Basilica di San Pietro: the largest, richest and most spectacular Italian church. Its dome, along with the Colosseum, is an undisputed symbol of the eternal city.
Il Colosseo: the symbol of Rome and the most exciting of the monuments of the ancient city. If you decide to visit it inside, buy your ticket online and you will skip the long lines at the entrance.
Il Pantheon: Pantheum in classical Latin, is a building of ancient Rome located in the Pigna district in the historic centre, built as a temple dedicated to all past, present and future divinities.
La Cappella Sistina: certainly one of the best known artistic treasures in the world. Dedicated to the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, it is certainly the flagship of the Vatican City. La fontana di trevi: the largest and most famous fountain in Rome. Built on the facade of Palazzo Poli by Nicola Salvi.
La colonna Traiana: undoubtedly one of the most famous monuments of ancient Rome. Standing in place since its construction, it has delineated the urban landscape for almost two thousand years!
Il Foro Romano: the Roman Forum was the area where public and religious life took place in ancient Rome. The forum is, together with the Colosseum, the greatest example of the greatness of the Roman Empire that can be seen today.
Piazza Navona: the quintessential Roman squares. Let yourself be fascinated by the wonderful Baroque palaces and exuberant fountains (including that of the Four Rivers of Bernini).
Piazza di Spagna: the Spanish Steps are the most famous in Rome. It owes its name to the palace of Spain, seat of the Iberian state embassy to the “Santa Sede”.
Piazza Navona: one of the most famous monumental squares in Rome, built in monumental style by the Pamphili family at the behest of Pope Innocent X (Giovanni Battista Pamphili) with the typical shape of an ancient stadium.
Campo dei Fiori: with the famous statue of Giordano Bruno, a heretical monk condemned to the stake during the Counter-Reformation period. The square is one of the focal points of Roman life: by day a crowded market, in the evening a great spot for a drink.
La bocca della verità: the Mouth of Truth is a huge marble mask, famous all over the world. Legend has it that it can bite the hand of anyone dares insert their hand! Eek.

Traffic: Rome is busy city with A LOT of traffic. Factor this into your wedding day schedule and let your guests know to do the same if you’re getting hitched in the city (as opposed to in the surrounding countryside or coast)
