Xana + Robbie’s Simple and Stylish Lake Como Wedding

They say simplicity is the ultimate sophistication and Xana + Robbie’s Lake Como wedding certainly proves this right! With bridesmaids in white, groomsmen in black, seasonal flowers and stand out lighting; they really let their beautiful venue and back-drop shine.

Some of our fave details include their seriously show-stopping prosecco tower, the genius idea to put rose petals on the swimming pool and their traditional Italian Millefoglie wedding cake. Simple, elegant with a splash of luxury.

Xana + Robbie’s day was perfectly planned by our wonderful wedding planning member Wiskow & White and those magical moments were all expertly captured by member MIKI Studios. Serious dream team!

Xana talks us through some of the decisions they made along the way…

THE VENUE

“Robbie and I fell in love with Italy and spent two summers visiting different parts. We visited Lake Como as soon as we got engaged and fell in love with the first venue we saw. To us, it was perfect and like no other place we had ever been too.”

THE STYLING

“We wanted to keep everything really neutral based on how decorative the venue was. We wanted the beautiful scenery to be the focus. We had natural greenery and simple lighting. I also chose white for my bridesmaids as I love the simplicity and how classic it looks.”

STANDOUT SUPPLIER

“I am so happy to share how perfect our wedding planning was and would highly recommend Wiskow & White to anyone planning a wedding. Lucy & Danielle are open to all ideas and nothing was ever too much. Everything we said we wanted Wiskow & White created. Our day was perfect from start to finish and this was down to their meticulous planning and organisation. Wiskow & White are very friendly and passionate about what they do which makes them so brilliant. We couldn’t have asked for better wedding planners.”

THE DRESS

“I chose a simple satin A line dress. It was one of the first I tried on and again loved the simplicity of it. It was also the first dress I found which made me feel like a bride. I matched it with a cathedral length veil which had some Italian lace detail on the edging.”

STANDOUT SUPPLIER

Miki Studios were friendly, knowledgeable and so professional. Mick and Ash drove the circumference of the lake to find the best pre-wedding shoot spot for us. They became friends, and most of our friends and family thought they were guests at the wedding! Despite this, I don't think there was a moment they didn't have their camera's in hand! They worked so hard. We are so happy we found Mick and Ash, our wedding would not have been the same with out them.”

A WORD OF ADVICE

“Don’t worry about anything, enjoy every minute and remember to take some time just for the bride and groom.”

ADVICE FROM THE PLANNERS

“Como is an incredible place to host a wedding for obvious reasons. Venues like Xana + Robbie’s tend to be day hire and come with a fixed caterer which can push prices up. It’s worth it!”

THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE

Xana says, “Patience! When planning a unique wedding, you’re asking suppliers for new things that they’ve not done before or aren’t used to doing. It can take some time to get the answers and we had to learn to be patient with that. We got to know our planners really well and learnt we could really trust them early on, which helped too.”
