Tallulah + Richard’s colourful la dolce vita style wedding in Sicily

When we saw some preview shots from the lovely Tallulah & Richard’s wedding in our couples Facebook group…we just knew we had to see more!

Their three-day Sicilian celebration was colourful, full-of-fun and personality and a perfect slice of la dolce vita. Kicking off with a welcome aperitivo with Tallulah in a show-stopping Dolce & Gabbana dress, to the main event hosted at the gorgeously authentic Tonnara di Scopello, followed by a day beach-side brunching - the whole weekend is super-stylish and brimming full of memories to last a lifetime.

There are so many details we love about this wedding, from the powder blue and peach flowers, the carefully designed and colourful tablescape, the bride’s donkey ride to dinner and the piano-playing bridesmaid. Not to mention Tallulah’s stunning Alena Leena bridal gown!

Scroll on for some serious la dolce vita style wedding inspiration and tons of wedding planning advice from the gorgeous newlyweds.

APPROACH TO PLANNING -

Tallulah says, “we really wanted our wedding to be super fun with lots of colour, music and delicious food - an amazing party for all our friends and family to remember forever. However we definitely wanted to make sure that our marriage and love for each other was at the centre of it all.”

FAVE STYLING DETAIL -

Tallulah says, “we had a fantastic illustrator who did all of our wedding stationery drawings which my mum added calligraphy to.”

STANDOUT MOMENT -

Tallulah says, “seeing Richard at the altar - he was weeping! I couldn't believe it was my turn to walk down the aisle and get married.”

THE BEST MONEY SPENT -

Tallulah says, “flying out a celebrant to marry us legally in front of our friends and family.”

PERSONAL TOUCHES -

Tallulah says, “in terms of making sure the feeling of love, togetherness and marriage shone through, we made sure we had special friends get involved in the wedding; from one of my bridesmaids writing some words for us in our ceremony, to another of my bridesmaids playing the piano before the service, to the ushers giving me a surprise serenade in their boxers on an old Sicilian fishing boat under the moonlight!"

THE STYLING -

Tallulah says, “I feel like we're quite a colourful couple and therefore the flowers and decorations were really bright and vibrant.”

STANDOUT SUPPLIER -

Tallulah says, “our wedding planners Design Anarchy for swooping in and making sure I didn't have to worry about a thing. I'm a chronic worrier and always imagined I'd be the same on my wedding day hoping things would go right and keeping an eye on the clock to make sure things went smoothly - but I had the best day of my life thanks to them.”

BIGGEST WIN -

Tallulah says, “the music! We had an incredible saxophone player who surprised all the guests after dinner, a really fun DJ, a local Sicilian folk band, my best friend Amy who played the piano and some great playlists in between all that.”

THE FOOD -

Tallulah says, “for the food we went for traditional Sicilian dishes including a sort of Sicilian 'market' style set up for aperitivo.”
