Francesca + Pete’s light and beautiful Masseria Wedding in Puglia
For Francesca + Pete it was love at first-sight when they saw the beautiful stone architecture and stunning setting of Masseria Grieco in Puglia. It was the perfect light and spacious backdrop for the relaxed and full-of-fun wedding they had planned. And my gosh, did it deliver.
We love the light blue colour they chose to style their day, from the bespoke printed napkins on the tables to the bridesmaid dresses and linen jackets, it really suited the venue and that relaxed Puglia vibe.
Food was another big focus for Francesca + Pete and one of the main reasons behind choosing Puglia as their destination. Their authentic Italian menu was created by the masters of all things exceptional and delicious,Rotondo Catering (seriously, check them out if you are getting married in Puglia!)
Francesca + Pete’s day was planned to perfection by the fabulous Wiskow & White, Omero & Friends brought a serious party-vibe, and all of the magic, emotion and fun was captured in style by MIKI Studios.
Francesca + Pete talk us through some of the decisions they made along the way…
THE VENUE
“We were due to see a few venues but upon travelling along the long driveway of Masseria Grieco and seeing the beautiful stone architecture we were stunned and in love! The huge swimming pool, wonderful courtyard with festoon lighting and beautiful rooms to accommodate 50 guests - it was everything we were looking for and more.”
THE CEREMONY
“We had a symbolic ceremony so instead of a hymn, we wanted a fun (slightly cheesy) song that our guests could sing along to. One night after deciding this we were throwing songs out there and Fran thought of "You're the One That I Want” from the musical Grease. It felt the perfect balance of fun and cheese and a song everyone knew.”
THE STYLING
“We wanted something natural, light and breezy that would suit the beautiful stone of the Masseria. We both love blue and so we went with some lovely light blue colours, to match the natural blue-green of Italy's olive trees. The guy's jackets went really well too, paired with stone coloured chinos which matched the stonework.”
THE DRESS
“I wanted a simple dress that would suit the laid back, informal vibe of the wedding. Most importantly I wanted something I could dance in and wasn't going to be too hot or heavy in the sunshine. I wanted my friends to be able to get close to me on the dance floor and not have a train that people would be standing on!”

You could tell on the day they knew exactly what they were doing, they chatted to our guests and got involved, our everyone loved them. We were so grateful to our planners for recommending them.”
PERSONAL TOUCHES
“We wanted to include some personal touches, so Fran learnt calligraphy and did the name cards herself and we also had personalised napkins with the wedding venue and date.”
A WORD OF ADVICE
“If you are planning a wedding abroad, where you don't know the local suppliers or speak the language, then get a wedding planner! Wiskow & White were absolutely worth the money! Our WIX website also worked really well and meant we didn't bother with invites or save the dates, all the info was in one place.”
THE HIGHLIGHTS
“Descending the staircase and seeing my loved one's faces and Pete! The tear jerking ceremony and readings. Singing Grease! Our first dance, all the speeches. All our male guests taking their tops off to the Baywatch theme (a university tradition). It was the most wonderful day of our lives, a dream come true.”
