Eleri + Lee’s understated wedding at Tenuta Corbinaia

Finding your Italian wedding story takes a different path for each couple. Lovely UK couple Eleri + Lee, veered on the side of understated elegance. All the classic touches of a truly gorgeous Tuscan wedding, but moments in the spotlight which they felt comfortable with - the cake cutting certainly delivered a big wow.

Their photographer, La Lista trusted Imogen Eve worked closely with them to capture candid, relaxed photos showing their truest selves - no false intimate moments here! “Eleri and Lee are just the most lovely, genuine couple. As a Doctor (Lee) and a Lawyer (Eleri), they are more on the introverted, reserved side of the personality spectrum, so they worked closely with their planner to make sure each part of their day felt authentic, stripping back parts which felt too 'showy' for them, to create a really beautiful, classic day.”

Eleri shares her top piece of advice for any other planning couple - “Do your research and choose a wedding planner who knows your venue - this was invaluable to the running of the day.” Couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

Why Italy?

“Lee and I have had amazing holidays in Tuscany together previously, so have happy memories here, and we love Italian wine!”

The Venue

“We saw three venues over a long weekend. Tenuta Corbinaia was the last venue we visited and we instantly fell in love with it. It had everything we were looking for to fulfil our dream Italian wedding.”

Did anything go wrong?

“Nothing went wrong, but arranging a wedding in a country where you don't speak the language has its difficulties and we couldn't have done it without our amazing wedding planners, Sara Marinari.”

The Budget

“Weddings in Italy are not inexpensive. That said, we would probably have spent the same if we'd got married in the UK.”

Top piece of advice

“Don't spend your morning worrying about the weather; what will be will be and if you've selected suppliers you can trust, they will work together to make sure you get the best possible experience no matter what. The clouds were dark on the morning of Eleri and Lee's wedding, with bouts of rain, but the skies cleared for the ceremony and afternoon in the end.”

Stand out Supplier

“Our catering company, Galateo, did an amazing job. Everything ran seamlessly on the day and the food was delicious. I'd also highly recommend my hair and make up artist, Samantha Pretto. I am so fortunate to have found her!”

Stand out Moment

“The one thing the couple allowed themselves to go all out for was the cake cutting - with firework fountains behind them, it was quite a dramatic moment and guests were blown away.”
