Tipwadee + Stefano’s chic and cosy Milan wedding
One of our lovely brides from the La Lista Facebook community got married this summer in Milan and we’re just thrilled to share their chic and classic day.
Tipwadee and now husband Stefano are a truly international couple from Thailand and Italy respectively, who met while studying at University in Edinburgh. The couple and 88 of their close friends and family celebrated their wedding at San Giovanni Battista Church followed by a reception at beautiful Villa Gaia Gandini. The villa overlooks the Naviglio Grande canal and has a beautiful renaissance-style courtyard with a portico on three sides and frescoed walls.
We love their delicate white and yellow flowers, their beautiful hand-drawn stationery and those stunning hanging lights creating that cosy and chic vibe.
Tipwadee has shared some amazing tips and advice with us from her experience planning a destination wedding in Italy with Covid thrown in. Read on for her words of wisdom and some gorgeous city-chic wedding inspo.
BIGGEST WIN -
Tipwadee says, “we did research all of our vendors ourselves, with Stefano being from Milan and speaking Italian this felt easy for us. We did however hire a wedding planner to help with the wedding design and to organise and coordinate all vendors on the day. Having a wedding planner there made everything run so smoothly and we could fully enjoy the day and relax.”
BIGGEST CHALLENGE -
Tipwadee says, “we struggled with the ever-changing Covid restrictions. When you have international guests it was stressful dealing with changes so close to the wedding day.”
A WORD OF ADVICE -
“We chose a church and reception venue that were a 5 min walk apart and our guests loved it. There were no issues with moving guest after the ceremony and we saved on our transport costs.”
STANDOUT SUPPLIER -
Tipwadee says, “our photographer Elena Popa. She really was the best and really helped us make the day go smoothly too.”
A WORD OF ADVICE -
“Choose your flower type carefully as in the summer the weather is warm and blooms can wilt quicker.”
FAVE STYLING DETAIL -
Tipwadee says, “definitely the location and the vintage light decoration over our tables.”
STANDOUT MOMENT -
“Our first dance! We had a private first dance and it was so special. I would definitely recommend considering a private first or last dance.”
