Justin + Yuanfei’s classic Tuscan wedding

Justin and Yuanfei’s wedding was awash with colour pairings, special performance and a lifetime of happy memories. A long-awaited day after two postponements was celebrated to the full with 50 guests at Art Hotel Villa Agape, just outside of Florence. “Keep it small: Our wedding had approximately 50 guests, which was very intimate and allowed us to spend quality time with each guest” the couple explain why their day felt so perfect for them. Wedding planner, The Different Twins describes the wedding “Such a sweet but bubbly couple crowned their dream of getting married in Florence. They wanted a Tuscan-style wedding with a hint of rustic yet elegant.”

We love how the authentic touches of olive and lemon, so true to Tuscany carefully complemented the more elegant vibe of the day. The couple celebrated their marriage with their loves - music and dance and really treated guests to such a personal experience.

Why Italy?

“Inspired by a friend of ours who had her wedding in the south of France, combined with the fact that our families live in different countries, we both knew we wanted a destination wedding. We loved the laid back feel of the Tuscan countryside and fell in love with Florence when we previously travelled there. There was no other real choice when it came to selecting the spot for our destination.” Yuanfei - bride

What would you change about your day?

“Is “having more than 24 hours in a day” an option? We absolutely loved everything about our wedding day, from the first look, to the ceremony, to the golden hour photos, to the reception dinner and dance party.” Yuanfei - bride

Advice for future couples

“If you can, make it a multi-day event. We organized a welcome dinner and drinks at a famous local pizzeria in Florence the day before our wedding, and a Florence walking food tour the day after. If you have family and friends traveling from all over the world for your wedding, having a couple of extra events around the wedding makes it a really nice way for everyone to get to know each other before your wedding, and enjoy some fun downtime together after.

If you are having a wedding at a villa / estate and your guests are traveling to your destination wedding, we recommend booking out the location and asking your guests to stay 3-nights (even if the wedding only requires 2 nights). It was easier to have our guests get to know each other when everyone at the location is connected to the bride and groom, and to not worry about early check-out the morning after the wedding!

Plan early: There are always things that cropped up at the last minute, but planning early and being organized allowed us to minimize our stress level. Most importantly, it allowed us to have fun while planning our wedding! It’s a long process, but it’s a great way to get to know yourself and your partner at an even deeper level than before.” Yuanfei - bride

Stand out moment?

“Our first dance: we did a choreographed Viennese Waltz and Salsa combination, which was the perfect blend of pomp and fun.” Yuanfei - bride

Stand out supplier

“All of our suppliers were outstanding, and everyone did a fantastic job. However, this wedding would not have come together if it was not for our extremely talented wedding planner, Roberta Pompeo. She provided us guidance where we needed (and where we didn’t think we needed), made sure everything was done well and on time, communicated proactively so we didn’t need to stress about “what’s next”, and most importantly she worked with our preferences and style to make sure the wedding felt 100% ‘us’.” Yuanfei - bride

Favourite styling feature?

“Our favorite styling was really the natural beauty of the location, Florence! I would love to say the gardens of Villa Agape, the delectable millefoglie cream cake, or the thoughtfully decorated dinner layout …none of it can top the elegant city in the distance mingling with the Tuscan hills.” Yuanfei - bride
