Jo + Davide’s heartwarming Terre di Nano wedding

Ready to feel all warm and fuzzy inside? We love a real wedding here at La Lista, but when our wonderful vendor member, Jo of Tuscan Pledges announced her wedding day, we knew we had to see the pics!

Jo + Davide hosted their bilingual wedding at Terre di Nano, a Tuscan venue which has held a place in Jo’s heart for many years. Handpicking their vendors from a group of talented professionals, whom the couple already call friends after years in the industry, all had the same goal of perfection for Jo + Davide. Even this wedding had to handle the dreaded rain crisis, with chairs and flower arrangements quickly moved in and then promptly outside again, to ensure the outdoor ceremony Jo had envisioned.

The Atmsophere

“It was a great occasion for friends and family to join us from Italy and the US. Terre di Nano is a venue especially dear to our hearts, the first time I went there was to celebrate a wedding, I immediately felt drawn to its wonderful energy, I felt like I had been there before, and the feeling is the same each time I have a wedding there. Despite the afternoon of our wedding being a bit chilly, all the guests marveled at the beauty of the landscape, enhanced by the amazing color palette offered by the florist, a true spectacle against the dark skies.”

Stand out moment?

“Ours was a second marriage, so we had our adult children (and my two granddaughters) with us throughout. I wanted to savour every moment of the ceremony, so I decided to stay sober and be truly present. Having my children walk me down, and seeing my husband-to-be waiting for me in that floral triumph was the best moment ever! My husband’s best moment was seeing me walk down the aisle, and his children’s speeches at the dinner party, with everyone sharing laughter and tears.”

Stand out supplier

“I was particularly keen of having Andrea Corsi and Beatrice Moricci capture our wedding, they have different styles and we like equally, and since it was impossible to decide between the two, we hired them both. If you look at Andrea’s work, all the weddings he photographed through the years show the happiest people on the planet. This is what we wanted for our wedding photos. And Beatrice, well, she is a poet, she finds beauty in the smallest details, and that’s what we wanted as well!”

Top piece of advice

“We had Francesca, a celebrant in our team, hold our wedding ceremony; writing the script for her “boss” was no easy feat for her, but she was professional and involved at the same time. I would strongly recommend having a professional celebrate your wedding, we were completely at ease and knew she would do a great job, despite the ceremony being held in two languages. The other piece of advice would be to trust your vendors, they really know what they are doing, your happiness is their satisfaction!”

The venue

“Ilaria, Giorgio and Alessandra at Terre di Nano worked hard to make our dream come true, our guests commented on the amazing meal and wines, as well as on the beautiful accommodation.”

The cake

“We selected a red velvet wedding cake out of the several choices our maître pâtissier made us taste. We loved the cheerful colour and even enjoyed the leftovers the next morning at breakfast.”
