Cool suits for the Groom & Groomsmen

An Italian wedding provides the perfect setting to embrace striking tuxedos, lightweight linens, and with it being a destination wedding it gives the opportunity to be bold and experiment with colour and personality. When choosing your suits, prioritise comfort and keep the heat in mind- after all, you’ll want to stay cool and composed. Be sure to let the venue and surrounding landscape guide your choice, while also considering the overall mood and vibe you wish to create.

Some top tips from us…..

With the ceremony normally taking place mid-afternoon in the peak of the heat it inevitably gets HOT… Grooms and groomsmen, we recommend removing your socks and shoes before the ceremony begins to help keep cool and comfortable.

Again going with that Italian heat, a few extra shirts are a must, as you'll definitely appreciate a fresh change before the evening festivities begin! Even underwear guys (!), sweat soaks deep.

You can’t go wrong with a Tux:

Richard James offers a range of luxe suit options that lean towards the premium end of the spectrum. While they might not be in the budget for all your groomsmen (only if they’re lucky!), they’re definitely worth considering for a splurge on yourself.

We particularly love these ivory tux jackets- they give off a sophisticated, chic Italian riviera vibe. Ivory not your style? They also offer them in classic black for a more traditional look.

When it comes to the groom’s look, Mr Porter is a top destination for a high-end tuxedo. We’re particularly fond of this brown one from Favourbrooks- perfect if you're looking for something a little different.

When choosing your tux, don’t forget to consider the weather and the fabric. A tuxedo never misses, the photos will always look SO good, but you might find it gets a bit toasty. It’s the price we pay to look good though, right?

You’ve likely heard of Moss Bros, but have you considered Moss Hire? It’s a great way to save money while taking a more sustainable approach. If you’ve got a large group of groomsmen, buying multiple suits can quickly add up, so hiring is a smart option that ensures you don’t compromise on style without breaking the bank.

Versatile in a three-piece suit:

Marc Darcy offers everything from suits to shoes at really reasonable prices, making it a great option for grooms on a budget without compromising on style.

One of the things we love about a three-piece suit is that if you start to feel a bit warm and need to remove the jacket, you still look sharp and put-together. This navy option is just one of many great choices available on the site.

This Slim Fit Puppytooth Stretch Suit is a prime example- it's the kind of look you'd expect to see on a spring evening in Roma. If you're after something a bit more understated, though, they offer plenty of options in classic colours, from sleek blacks to timeless navies.

Fun + colourful:

Percival has it all from tailoring to stand-out looks. We’re big fans of this laid-back seersucker suit. That textured fabric? A real visual treat. And the forest green? It’s a timeless shade that not only looks put together, but is super fun as well.

For those unfamiliar with seersucker, it's a lightweight fabric with a distinctive puckered texture, so there's no need for ironing- the practicality! It’s incredibly versatile and comfortable- perfect for a warm day in Italy.

Double-breasted heaven:

Hawes & Curtis offer a fantastic selection of double-breasted suits, from classic pinstripes to timeless black, and even this stunning linen option. There’s plenty to choose from, and thankfully, not all of them will leave you feeling overheated!

That said, we do think the double-breasted style is worth a little sweat- it’s undeniably sharp and adds a certain edge to your look.
