Who doesn’t love a bit of celebrity trivia to while away this cosy pre-Christmas period?
Many famous faces have chosen our beloved Italia for their wedding celebrations. With its stunning architecture, culture, food and natural beauty, who could really blame them!
Let’s take a look at some of the most iconic celebrity weddings in Italy to date.
Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker
Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker got married in May 2022 on the Italian Riviera coastline in Portofino. They exchanged vows during a lavish ceremony at Dolce & Gabbana's L'Ulivetta villa, before enjoying a reception at the medieval castle Castello Brown.
The three day affair was hosted by Dolce & Gabbana and also included a Friday night welcome dinner at Ristorante Puny and a Saturday lunch at the Abbey of San Fruttuoso in Portofino, before their intimate nuptials on the Sunday.
With all things Kardashian this wedding was a major popular cultural moment this year. We expect to see many of the styling details trending in weddings in 2023; from mini length and corseted bridal gowns, exquisite and detailed embroidered veils, tulle evening gloves and candles galore.
Kim Kardashian & Kanye West
Let’s continue keeping up with the Kardashian’s shall we? Back in 2014, Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West spent a reported €300,000 hosting their wedding at the beautiful 16th-century Forte di Belvedere in Florence. The fortress is known for it’s stunning panoramic views of the city and the pair exchanged vows in front of a 20ft-high wall of flowers. Not only that, Andrea Bocelli serenaded Kim as she walked up the aisle on the arm of her stepfather, Bruce (now Caitlyn) Jenner.
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
Model Chrissy Teigen and singer John Legend celebrated their wedding on Lake Como (a popular choice amongst the A-listers) in September 2013. The wedding took place at Villa Pizzo, the location where they first fell in love.
Chrissy wore a total of three Vera Wang dresses on her big day.

George Clooney & Amal Alamuddin
George and Amal celebrated their wedding with a four-day Venetian extravaganza in September 2014. They hosted their wedding at the luxurious 16th-century Aman Venice hotel on the Grand Canal.
George, of course, also owns a villa in Italy on beautiful Lake Como. A true Italy lover.
Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel
Justin and Jessica hosted an intimate wedding at the incredible Borgo Egnazia resort in Puglia in 2012. The hotel is set in a scenic seaside patch of Puglia and is a luxurious imitation of a traditional village (borgo).
Justin serenaded his bride with a song specially written for her as she walked down the aisle in a spectacular pink Giambattista Valli gown.
When asked why they chose Italy for their wedding they simply said, "we love to eat!" A couple very much after our own hearts. Affogato (ice cream and coffee) and mini caprese salads were on offer at their Italian feast.

Jessica Chastain & Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo
Actress Jessica Chastain married her partner Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo at his family home in Carbonera, Italy, in 2017. Their ceremony took place at the Passi de Preposulo family estate, Villa Tiepolo Passi.
A-list guests like Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt were there for the long weekend of celebrations which included a Friday night welcome dinner in Venice.
Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes
What an iconic noughties couple these two were!
Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes just seven weeks after they started dating in a sunset ceremony at Odeschalchi Castle in Lake Bracciano in 2006.
