Rewritten’s top 3 tips for bridesmaids dressing

We caught up with the wonderful team at Rewritten Bridesmaids to get all of their insider advice on bridesmaid dress shopping and styling.

So read on for all of their top tips to make sure you shop like an absolute boss and keep your best girls happy while you’re at it.

What are your top tips for brides shopping for their bridesmaid dresses?
1. Get dresses that suit your girls, not just what you want to see them in.

Trust us, we've had many brides over the years who wanted to put their girls in a certain style or colour, and if the bridesmaids don't feel comfortable, you'll know about it on your big day. Of course, you're the bride and you have a huge say in your big day, but letting your bridesmaids have an input with suggesting to their brides what they like and feel comfortable in, even if it is a different style for each girl, really will make a difference. We are HUGE advocates of a mix & match, try mixing styles along one colour, or mixing different colours along your line up. How about using different shades and styles of green satins for the best botanical bridesmaids.

2. Get your hands on the right undies to wear with your dress!

This is more important than you realise. If you have a gorgeous dress but you can see your panty line or your bra strap, it may take away the beauty of the dress and you may not feel as comfortable as you can be throughout the day. We are here to help and have written a blog post with suggestions of what underwear you can wear under each style of dress. From nipple covers to low back converters and seamless undies we’ve really got you covered. You’re welcome!

3. Dressing a pregnant bridesmaid? Don't worry, we've got your back with this one too!

Whilst babies are obviously fabulous news, we understand that it can be tricky when trying to find the best bridesmaids dress for your best girls. Fear not, this happens ALL OF THE TIME and the good news is that you can rock one of our dresses just as easily whether your bump or sans bump. Look for styles that are either loose fitting at the waist, have an adjustable waist (like a wrap style dress) or have a waist seam that sits just under the bust and above baby bump. Some of our recommended and fully tried and tested styles are The Florence, The Mykonos and The Vienna. Read our blog here for more information on these bump-friendly styles.
