For the walkers and foodies

1) A favourite is La Buca della Fate at Baratti, which is a cliff overlooking the sea that only few know. The sea is breathtaking here - a dive in this sea is worth a thousand baths elsewhere!

2) Explore and find your zen in nature in the Santuario della Verna, Casentino or La Croce del Pratomagno. A really spiritual walk in the forest to centre yourself. A must stop at La Melosa for the fantastic homemade ravioli for the Santuario walk and La Bottega di Chiassaia for La Croce del Pratomagno. There are several trials to walk, from 40mins to 4 hours of walking (pack those hiking boots!)

Top 3 Tuscan ‘tourist’ things you must do:

3) Take an electric bike and get lost in the center of Florence, including a mandatory stop for ice cream at La Carraia and a sandwich with ‘lampredotto’ (a Florentine speciality) in the Gavinana.

For the foodies & culture junkies

Visit Pietrasanta which always full of exhibitions and cultural events. An absolute must-stop for you foodies is at Il Gabbiano at Viareggio for the best sea carbonara of Tuscany. Preluded or followed by a sugary donut in the pine forest nearby - Gatto Nero (known to the locals as PIPPO) - and one of the best memories of my childhood in Viareggio.
