From advice on how to pick the best makeup artist to her hero products for a destination wedding, we asked Jess to share some of her best beauty hacks. You don’t want to miss this!
1. Look at bridal and makeup looks and pick pictures you like for yourself as inspiration.
2. Think about your tones and overall aesthetic for eyes and skin.
3. Does the artist you picked have a style of makeup you like? Or can you ask them using your pictures?
4. Would you like a touch-up after your ceremony, before your reception or would you like your artist there with you over the course of the day? Make sure to check what is possible and the costs for this at enquiry stage.
1. Use the trial for a night out so you see how it wears.
2. Communicate the look to your artist. Do you like a glowy fresh look? Do you like a more full-on evening glam? Talk about what color palette you see for yourself, is it warm, cool, pink or bronze? Make sure you have your pictures with you, as this is the best way to show the kind of look you want to achieve.
3. Try out two different looks in the trial if needed to find out what you really love.
4. Speak to your makeup artist about what they recommend for your face and eye shape. With professional judgement, you can enhance your natural features and feel and look like your best self.
5. If your artist is international and you are not having a trial until right before the wedding, book in a video call and make a plan for your look for the day. Again using images or a mood board you have created to show the look you are going for is the best way to get this conversation started.

1. Microdermabrasion or a facial 1-2 weeks prior to the wedding is a great idea if the budget stretches. Also, having a solid skin care routine for the 3-6 months before your wedding really will make a difference.
2. A sheet mask the night before your wedding and hydrating under eye patches on the morning of your wedding to give that extra glow.

1. SPF can be used under foundation however this can cause flashback in your photos, so foundation coverage is paramount and setting is imperative to avoid shine.
2. Touch up setting powders are great for warm weather to keep the skin matt and flawless. Have a small one in your bag (or bridesmaids bag) if you are not having your MUA stay for the duration of the wedding day.
3. Setting sprays used by the artist in various steps of application are great to lock in the product.
LASHES: I offer lash extensions. Some brides opt for this service due to watery eyes or just knowing they will cry a lot. This avoids strip lashes or individuals sliding or moving around as lash extensions are semi permanent and then can be used for the honeymoon to feel extra fresh and glam as they last for a few weeks.
BROWS: I also offer brow waxing, tinting, HD brow and lamination. These are all additional ways to perfect the brows, making them the right thickness and density for your special day.
